The recently organized Philadelphia Society of Orthodontists, which has chosen the AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ORTHODONTICS AND ORAL SURGERY as its official publication, has elected the following officers:

- Vice-President, Dr. Frederick B. Stathers
- Secretary-Treasurer, Dr. Augustus L. Wright

The fall meeting of the Philadelphia Society of Orthodontists was held Oct. 6, 1947, at Hotel Warwick. The essayist was Dr. Clare K. Madden, of Connecticut. The officers elected for the year of 1948 are:

- Secretary, Dr. Augustus L. Wright, 255 South Seventeenth Street.

The spring meeting of the Philadelphia Society of Orthodontists was held Friday, April 29, 1949, at 2:30 P.M. at the Hotel Warwick, and was followed by dinner. The essayist was Dr. Spencer Atkinson of Pasadena, California. The officers elected for the year 1949-1950 are:
- President, Dr. Harry B. Wright, Medical Arts Building
- Secretary-Treasurer, Dr. John M. Jackson, Medical Arts Building

A meeting of the Philadelphia Society of Orthodontists was held on Monday, Nov. 14, 1949. Dr. Arthur V. Greenstein of New York City, assisted by Dr. William R. Joule of Newark, New Jersey, and Dr. Brainerd F. Swain of Morristown, New Jersey, gave a clinic on "The Role of Extraction in Orthodontic Therapy." Following the dinner Dr. Wilton M. Krogman, of the University of Pennsylvania, made some pertinent remarks relative to the subject matter. At a short business meeting held by the society the officers elected for the year 1950 are:
- Dr. Andrew F. Jackson, President.
- Dr. John M. Jackson, Secretary-Treasurer.
